Work in a morning after lack of sleep due to an all night party is a very common memory that can recall. Brain and memories require more time to function or not functioning properly and the body movements are at nowhere near full capacity. If this is just happens once in a while, getting some good night sleep can get you back to normal. But what happen if we have a practice of low sleep for a certain period of time.

A good night sleep is a requirement of the body. For some lucky people, sleep comes when they hit the pillow. But for some, it take times. Lack of sleep can create unwanted issues and health problems to your life. Based on recent researches, 40% of the US adults get under seven hours of sleep a night and 71% get under eight hours of sleep during weekdays.
Study reveals that a steady, uninterrupted sleep is required for a memory to consolidate or transfer from short-term memory to meaningful, long-term memory. And also there is a relationship between disturbed sleep patterns and a boost in number of diseases, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and overall fatality. Certain negative symptoms of health, such as blood levels of cortisol and lipids as well as blood pressure, all increase.

Pressure, strain and depression are some of the common causes for a lack of sleep. Depend on the person, there can be some other factors too.
Age is an important factor for lack of sleep. An aged men experience less sleep and rising up early morning or sleeping at very late nights. This is since the advancement of age human body secretes less chemical called melatonin which control sleep.
Hormonal changes can be one of the causes behind sleep deprivation. Insomnia or sleeplessness is more common in women than in men as the secretion of hormones that lead to deprivation of sleep is intrinsic in women. In fact, in women insomnia is one of the most common side effects due to increase or decrease of the level of secretion of hormones that are responsible for controlling PMS, menstruation cycle, menopause and such.
Medical disorders such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, hyper thyroid disorder, asthma, allergies, arthritis and Parkinson disease can lead to less sleep. Disorders like sleep apnea can also cause to break the continuous sleep. Taking too much medicines also can cause lack of sleep. Heredity is another causes as it carries insomnia down from one generation to other through genes.
Environmental disturbances such as irregular noises, bed bugs or any other insects, light and oversleep at day time also can cause lack of sleep at night.

It was said the hour before bed time is more important to be relax and wind down before sleep. Studies reveals African-Americans spending most time on beds before sleep and are performing activities such as viewing TV (75%) and/or spending times on religious practice (71%). They are spending an average of 54 minutes on weekdays and 71 minutes on weekends before go to sleep. Most African-Americans (17%) and Asians (16%) said to be doing last hour job related works before the bed time than Whites (9%) and Hispanics (13%) . It also revealed that most African-Americans get lack of sleep every night due to personal financial concerns (12%) and employment concerns (10%) at a higher rate than Whites (6% and 7%) or Asians (1% and 4%). Hispanics are almost equally concerned each night about these two issues (11% and 9%, respectively).
Asians get better sleep and are having less sleep related problems with a 5% compared to 13% Whites, 8% Hispanics and 9% African-Americans. It also revealed that African-Americans were getting least amount of sleep on workdays with an average of 6 hours and 14 minutes compared to Asians which has an average of 7 hours and 29 minutes.

A very crucial rule for getting a good night sleep is not to change the time schedule of the sleep. Your body is set to a certain sleeping cycle. And sleeping in odd hours for couple of days can reset your body clock to a different cycle. That can cause getting sleepy late and wake up late or vise verse.
Practicing sleep at certain time every day and getting up every day in time will bring you a stable sleep and day time full energy to your life. Over sleeping, irregular sleep or taking a nap can break this your sleeping cycle. You will need to take necessary precautions to avoid this practice. Setting up a bedtime schedule is a very useful way to get rid of lack of sleep. Exercising regularly on a certain time period will avoid sleep during day time and keep your body active. Being less active can cause insomniac.
